Weathered and worn, an old 1950s Chevy pickup awaits some loving care. This hardworking truck was used to haul everything from hay to hand tools. My grandparents kept their 1950s truck busy transporting strawberries and vegetables to the grocer in Noel, Missouri. If there was any room left, my mom and her sisters could ride in the back on the flatbed. Around the farm, they would ride sitting on the hood or standing on the running board hanging on to the door. These were the days before seatbelts, airbags and superhighways.
Description
Route 66 series takes you back to a time when life was physically demanding, and needs were minimal by today’s standards. A vehicle was a tool or luxury afforded by the middle and upper class.
Create a personal arrangement to reflect the past with Open Edition prints from the Route 66 series, Barns and Buildings and Wildflower collections. These prints can be used individually as accents or combined to create a striking display. You can hang Open Editions on the wall or display them on an easel. All Open Editions are signed.
