The cafĂ© looks like they locked up at the end of the day and never returned. Retro dinette sets, metal napkin holders, old signs and memorabilia fill the space, but the dust and cobwebs indicate it hasn’t been open in years!

According to the sign, they established the Spencer community in 1886. My research indicates they built the store, café & barbershop, garage and service station in the 1930s.
The road in the photograph is one of the few remaining sections of the original concrete roadbed of Route 66 dating back to the 1920s. (Source.)
