Lady Cardinal
$85.00 – $155.00
Female cardinals are more elusive than their partner. They seldom light on open branches for more than a few seconds. However, I was ready and waiting to capture a photo. Here she is, fluffed up for warmth on a cold January day.
Description
Some believe female cardinals signal good news is coming. She is a sign of bright days to come, dreams realized and a positive future. It is also said that she brings a spiritual message, letting you know that your loved ones in Heaven are nearby.
Cardinals mate for life and, contrary to typical couples, papa cardinal nurtures the young fledglings.

What a delightful discovery!
It stood alone in a golden field with a few clouds and a blue sky as a backdrop. It is rare to find a tree like this, unencumbered by electric lines, housing developments or other noise.

According to the sign, they established the Spencer community in 1886. My research indicates they built the store, café & barbershop, garage and service station in the 1930s.
The road in the photograph is one of the few remaining sections of the original concrete roadbed of Route 66 dating back to the 1920s. (Source.)
