Jack-in-the-Pulpit is said to look like a Sunday-morning preacher ready to deliver his sermon to any passer-by.
These plants are often hard to spot because of their subdued colors. Their small stature and desire for shady, damp areas allow them to blend in with the May Apples and other understory growth. I discovered this little guy while hiking in Arkansas’s Prairie Creek State Park. It was hiding from the sun under the shelter of a bluff.
Description
Jack-in-the-Pulpit is unusual and a great conversation starter with an interesting background. Open Edition metal prints can be hung anywhere since metal prints are impervious to moisture, fingerprints and germs. All Open Editions are signed. Use them as accents or combine them to create a striking ensemble.

I found these in an area protected by the Nature Conservancy at Springfield (MO) Conservation Nature Center. At the city’s southeast edge, the Center spreads over an 80-acre tract bordering Lake Springfield. You can find ducks, otters, deer, foxes, and other wildlife, as well as native plants, trees and aquatic plants.
