$28.95
True stories of hiking adventures told with spell-binding detail and spectacular photographs.
Description
LaDonna Greiner shares true stories of her hiking adventures with spell-binding detail and spectacular photographs. Her love of nature, curiosity and fearless disposition take her all over the Ozarks and beyond. From surviving a stormy night in freezing weather atop a Missouri mountain (Keep Moving) to a wrongful felony charge, her life has the makings of a Greek tragedy. Why did she survive the lightning, rain and cold when three others had died a few years earlier? How did she escape hypothermia while drenched to the skin in icy winds and freezing temperatures? How did she keep her sanity while cold and alone in a forest inhabited by wild boars, coyotes, bobcats and other wild animals? They never found her, so how did she survive?
From witnessing the awe of a Mississippi alligator protecting her young by eating another gator to nearly walking off a bluff in the early morning darkness, LaDonna’s ‘show and tell’ makes your spine tingle while challenging your thoughts. Her attitude of faith, determination and gratitude helps her to overcome each adverse situation as she draws you into each moment.
There is no doubt she is here for a purpose.

$85.00 – $155.00Weathered and worn, an old 1950s Chevy pickup awaits some loving care. This hardworking truck was used to haul everything from hay to hand tools. My grandparents kept their 1950s truck busy transporting strawberries and vegetables to the grocer in Noel, Missouri. If there was any room left, my mom and her sisters could ride in the back on the flatbed. Around the farm, they would ride sitting on the hood or standing on the running board hanging on to the door. These were the days before seatbelts, airbags and superhighways.

These plants are often hard to spot because of their subdued colors. Their small stature and desire for shady, damp areas allow them to blend in with the May Apples and other understory growth. I discovered this little guy while hiking in Arkansas’s Prairie Creek State Park. It was hiding from the sun under the shelter of a bluff.
